Car Audio Electronics @ 01 April 2010
Can you give me information on the use of software oscilloscope plus my laptop, a car audio setup? “I have a head unit, plus an amplifier and a 12″ subwoofer in the trunk, I would like to be able to configure it with a software oscilloscope, but not sure that the program it can be to do the job , not sure, an ordinary PC microphone is appropriate, and if I need something better?

most people can just use their ears to hear the different waves and frequencies. I think Termpro has some software that you can use to tune your system if you want, they are pretty knowledgable when it comes to DB Drag and Audiology

It’s best to use a spectrum analyzer and have either a graphic EQ with at least 16 bands or a parametric EQ with at least 3 bands.

Here –
I’ve taken all of the guess work out of setting the gain.
You’ll need Microsft Excel, a multi-meter (AC voltmeter) and a way to burn an audio CD to use it.
